October 27 Emails about transfer Ladies and Gents, FYI, Wei has been transferred effective Nov. 1st to Marmul. Wei has been in Fahud for over a year and now it is time for a new challenge. I'm certain that he will take the knowledge he acquired in Fahud and make a difference & strong impact in Marmul. Wei, all the best and good luck in your new adventure with SLB. Thank you for your valuable contributions to Fahud. You will be always welcomed to come back and visit us. Wei, I was impressed with your work ethic and attitude during your time in Fahud, one of my favorite inventors once said that 'Genius is no substitute for hard work.'. I think that you understand that and I know it will serve you well. Good luck and keep in touch. My dear Cased Hole team, If I get your attention for at least one line I, would like to summarize the intention of this e-mail by quoting: "The Whole is Greater than the Sum of All its Parts" (not really sure by whom or what year this was quoted) This is only true if all parts are aimed in the same direction. This way they become a sum. If the parts are not focused in the same direction, they become a difference...or subtraction. (Lewes 1875, p. 412)(Blitz 1992) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Success Story - Proper use of Handover Notes and our big man "Frank" With the news of Mr. Wei "Frank" Cui's departure I would like to share with you all a bit of a success story about Mr. Wei. Since the CLC arrived to Fahud, it has been nothing but problems for almost every engineer that used it. Most of the engineers jotted down their issues after their job. When Wei was assigned to this unit, he took it upon himself to work his butt of and tackle all items in these handover sheet so that he can provide a working unit not only for himself but for anyone else who may use it. Of course it wasn't Wei himself who did it, it was a lot thanks to his crew, Libert, and our support staff...but overall it was Wei who initialized the need for improvement and made the push forward. Thanks Wei and all his helpers for providing our base with a much improved unit!! (now it's time to knock on wood and hope I didn't jinx anything). Dear Fahud colleagues,
I am sorry that I donot have time to say Goodbye
to everybody, but I really appreciate for your help and
support during my days in Fahud. I learn a lot of
knowledge, skills and experiences everyday in Fahud, and
more important, I am really proud that I have
chance to work with you -- the most outstanding, brilliant and
friendly people in the world. Experience in Fahud
will be one of my most valuable memories in whole life.
If you come to Marmul, or my home country China,
please donot hesitate to give me a call, and I will be very glad to
show you around and cheer together. You can
always find my latest contact information on LDAP.
Thanks again. Good luck!
Sincerely,
